For what you get, Albert Genius is cheap – dirt cheap!
Most consultations with financial planners cost $50 an hour and with Albert, you get someone who you can text 24/7 that has a live view of your transactions for only $6.
It’s good to get a second opinion from someone with a lot of experience seeing people’s financial situations.
The advice is basic and if you’re not super comfortable with personal finance, they can walk you through current personal finance best practices.
Some of the things that Albert Genius suggested to me were to have a 3–6-month emergency savings fund, pay down credit card debt, and to max out my 401k.
It’s also important to look at Albert in context with the rest of the services that Albert offer.

While Albert Genius provides amazing value for the price, much of the information that they cover can easily be found with a quick google search.
Some of their geniuses are CFPs but they’ve been very careful not to claim that they’re providing financial advice – they’re financial experts.
Many suggestions from Albert include signing up for products offered by Albert or that they get commissions on.
The biggest one that comes to mind is their bill negotiation service. It’s nice to have a button you can press to lower your bill but the fee of 40% of the savings for the first two years is very high.
I feel that you only need Albert Genius for a couple of months.
Once you have your financial house in order, you’ll generally find yourself texting your expert less and less.
It can still be worth staying with Albert to get their cash advance and early paycheck features though.
How Much Does Albert Genius Cost?
For monthly plans, Albert Genius costs a minimum of $6 a month.
Albert is one of those new fintechs that lets you pay what you want. If you think their advice is worth $100 a month, they’re happy to charge that.
You can save and even get a bonus on Albert Genius by signing up for an annual plan.
The price for an annual plan is $72 vs $100 for the monthly plan. If you sign up for an annual plan, Albert will even reward you with a $25 cash bonus.

How Do I Sign Up For Albert Genius

How To Cancel Albert Genius
You can cancel Albert Genius by texting the word Cancel to the phone number 639-37.

- Contact customer support
- Text cancel or cancel genius to the text message you’ve received

Genius is not the only subscription or charge that you could get from Albert.
